Awesome Autumn Internationals

The time is here and the moment is now… After some ifs, buts and maybes, the Autumn Internationals which sees the Southern hemisphere tour the North is finally back! Bonus: they all play a few Tests beforehand too…

The show starts at Oita Stadium on the 23rd of October where hosts Japan take on Australia who are on a four-game winning streak. Three European-based players, Will Skelton, Tolu Latu and Rory Arnold will join Quade Cooper for this tour that will see them play Scotland, England and Wales after their Asian leg.

Across the Pacific Ocean, the All Blacks will be playing the USA Eagles in Washington D. C. on the same day, after which the Kiwis will tour and take on Wales, Italy, Ireland and France. The All Blacks will be bringing a few new faces including halfback Finlay Christie and prop Ethan de Groot and lock Josh Lord as they continue to build for the 2023 RWC.

2019 World Cup champion South Africa are touring the North without Faf de Klerk and Cheslin Koble who are out with injury. They start with a Test against Wales on the 6th of November followed by Scotland and England over the next two weekends.

Pasifika Rugby will be represented by Tonga who will play Scotland on the 30th of October, England a week later, the French Barbarians on the 13th of November and Romania on the 20th. Fiji will also tour, playing Spain, Wales and Georgia.

Argentina will also take Los Pumas for a northern tour, scheduled to play France, Italy and Ireland, while Uruguay also tour, playing Romania, Italy A and Italy.

Women’s Rugby will also be played throughout the autumn, with New Zealand Black Ferns playing England and France, USA playing Canada, Japan to play Wales and Scotland while South Africa Women’s will play France as well as the Barbarians.

Perhaps the autumn internationals will finally bring about a momentum shift that we have all been waiting for…
